Shaded Profit is a hip hop artist who creates music based on his experiences as an awkward nerd navigating the worlds of elite society, tech, the streets, and the military. Described as a cross between Chance the Rapper and Childish Gambino, Profit manages to combine a mainstream pop sound with the type of introspective and poetic lyrics often found in conscious rap.  He released his debut EP, "Outsider", in winter 2018.  

Originally from the Bronx, NY, Shaded Profit (born Edgar Pabon) began rapping when he was 17.  As someone who lived in the ghetto but went to an elite prep school, rap became a way for him to voice his unique perspective of having to navigate different worlds.  After failing to gain traction with his music after high school, Profit focused his energies on other areas over the next few years.  In this period, he graduated from college, served as an officer in the Army, and worked as a software engineer.  After realizing that his heart was still in music, he returned to hip hop with a newfound intensity and maturity.
